FELLOWSHIP Games Research Preparatory Activities

The conceptualized research methodology of the FELLOWSHIP project centres on two primary activities: developing a “Database and e-Handbook” and creating an “Outdoor Games Guide” to foster Emotional Intelligence (EQ). This component of the project helped to establish a solid theoretical foundation for the project.

The main goal of these activities was to collect data from youth and youth workers to understand their perspectives on game-based learning and emotional intelligence. This information shaped the creation of two key resources:

  • Offering insights and practical tools to improve emotional intelligence skills among young people.
  • Providing experiential activities that promote EQ development.

These resources serve as foundational tools for empowering youth through enhanced emotional intelligence. Both qualitative and quantitative indicators were used to assess the achievement of objectives and the quality of the results.

Tasks within these core results included research methodology development, data collection, analysis, translation, and dissemination for the Database and e-Handbook. For the Outdoor Games Guide, activities encompassed needs assessment, planning, content development, translation, and dissemination.

 

These results lay the groundwork for creating practical resources to support young people in developing their emotional intelligence.

FELLOWSHIP Outdoor Games Guide

Below you will find the Conceptualized Research Methodology in all the languages

This core result focuses on developing two serious games to enhance emotional intelligence skills among youth workers and young people. Led by EIfI-Tech and co-led by Fifty-Fifty, the project aims to empower youth workers with innovative tools for training.

The goal is to design engaging games that leverage the power of game-based learning, creating interactive and enjoyable experiences. The key outcomes are:

  • Board Game on Emotional Intelligence A creative tool to develop decision-making, soft skills, and empathy.
  • Digital/Serious Game on Conversation Flashcards digital resource designed to enhance conversational skills and emotional awareness.
  • Click to Download: Board Game Manual

Qualitative indicators will assess engagement and effectiveness, while quantitative metrics will track usage and dissemination. Tasks include game design, development, testing, and dissemination.

These results provide impactful and innovative tools that support youth empowerment and emotional intelligence development.

FELLOWSHIP Learning & Training Labs

The FELLOWSHIP Learning & Training Labs aim to train youth workers and young people in emotional intelligence skills using the games and guides developed. Led by our partners at NGO Nest Berlin and AIM, this component enhances learning through interactive and collaborative experiences.

Youth leaders & youths from four European countries engage in immersive activities designed to improve their skills and foster behavioural changes. The program delivers:

  • A five-day training lab for youth workers to build competence and confidence in using the developed tools.
  • A five-day training lab involving both youth workers and young people, focused on applying these tools in real-world contexts.

Outcomes include improved emotional regulation, communication, and empathy skills, as well as stronger social connections. Success is measured through qualitative indicators, such as skills improvement and motivation, and quantitative indicators, including participation and engagement rates.

The training labs contribute significantly to the project by fostering emotional intelligence and empowering participants to apply these skills in their personal and professional lives.
